20 March 2024 « Back to Blog PostsA gas safety certificate, also known as a CP12, is a legal requirement for all landlords in the UK. It confirms that all gas appliances, fittings and flues in a property have been checked and are safe to use.
As a landlord, you must have a Gas Safe registered engineer carry out a safety check on every gas appliance and flue annually. You must provide a copy of the certificate to existing tenants within 28 days of the check, and to new tenants before they move in.
